Sleep terrible since I have to be up early to drive back to NYC. I have a tendency to postpone joy, and numerous other feelings, but feel a growing sense of elation after saying goodbye to Dahli and heading towards LA. I’ve never done three days of shows before, and it probably would have been a lot harder had we gone over the six or seven hours we allowed ourselves each day (there was a lot of other stuff to see down here and neither of us was particularly in a mood to rush). Whatever I didn’t see I’ll make note of and wait until it passes though the city.
I think they filmed the epic closing scene from Seven out here near the wind generators. Driving through Riverside the air is so smoggy I think it’s fog and can’t believe how crisp and clear the air was in the desert. It’s all rather ugly here in the valley and I’m tired of religious billboards and radio programming telling me Armeggedon is near. When I drop the PT cruiser off the guy checking in my car says he needs to make sure there’s not bodies in the car. I tell him I left them in the desert which is why the car is so dirty.
