THINGS FALL APART
Interview with TTS recruiting. Wore pants I realized I hated and make my ass look silly. Love my new red briefcase. A high-security office building. A small office. Fluorescent lighting. No music. Good interview. Working with Avon? Need some new clothes. Movie filming on 53rd. Some guy in a Santa Clause outfit. No obvious celebrities. Clothes shopping. New hip outfit. Get some Chinese take out and head home. On the subway platform a sketchy man who looks like Serpico makes a very public call on a pay phone. I put on headphones and simulate listening experience while eavesdropping.

“Baby you have to give me something. I love you. I’ll buy you clothes, I’ll do anything, you just have to show me you love me.”

“What? Now you want to be friends? Listen baby you’re not listening, let’s talk when you’re hearing what I’m saying. (Repeat three times in various forms).

Subway car approaches.

“Listen baby, you don’t want to… (subway noise) …go back to jail… (subway noise) …I have friends… (subway noise) …you don’t want to…”

Hangs up and gets dirty looks from bystanders.

Head home. Eat Chinese food (still warm). Sign up for digital production class in two weeks. Head back downtown. Someone pulls emergency break. Subway sits on tracks for 15 minutes. Now reading Under The Banner Of Heaven by Jon Krakauer. Arrive 59th St. station. Observe young preppy couple having blowout argument. Nice run around Central Park. Abdominal workout after. Go to movies after and see School For Scoundrels. Disappointing.
