BELLY

It’s cold and nasty tonight and Cara and I are down in Tribeca to see the very talented illustrator Leela Corman (above) at the Lafayette Grill as part of a holiday bellydance gala. A couple of years ago Leela and I had some fun working together on one of those books aimed at the “bridal market.” Since I moved here we’ve been unsuccessfully trying to meet in person, so this was a helluva introduction with a profusion of amazing performances and extraordinary Persian music— a great way to experience other facets of her I’ve only had hints about.
