Sundays are not particularly great times to visit museums in New York, but Cara and I had a day to hang out together so we walked from the 81st Street Station through Central Park over to the Whitney Museum. We were primarily there to see the eerie and profound Kiki Smith retrospective, but also took a stab at the Picasso and American Art exhibit, which was showing for it’s last day. Much too crowded. It was difficult to actually absorb the material with so much physical presence. We browsed the other floors but the Terence Koh exhibit in the lobby blasting out a blinding beam of light was a nice opportunity to get in some abstract crowd images.
