CRABS
The catalyst for my whole trip was this annual crab feed my uncle and aunt go to every year. It’s a Lions Club fund-raising deal that starts off with Boy Scouts bringing out large stainless steel bowls of foodstuffs in the following order:

1. Succulent iceberg lettuce salad.

2. Garlic bread.

3. Spaghetti with meat sauce.

4. Crab legs in copious amounts.

5. Drink tickets available for a small fee.

I have to say the crab was fresh and damn good, though there’s really only so much of the stuff anyone can really eat before you get disgusted with the whole shelling process. It leaves one with a generally unclean feeling. There was a raffle at the end. I won a beard trimmer and a gift certificate to a drug store that’s not even on the East Coast. I donated the appliance to my balding cousin and gave the gift certificate to my dad.
