Got cheap tix today to see a preview of the new Wallace Shawn one-man show The Fever at the Acorn Theater. I’ve always loved Mr. Shawn’s acting and this polite polemic and condemnation of consumerist culture demands a second look. It’s a bit long, but the writing is so dense and brilliant I feel like I missed huge chunks of content while focused in fascination on his mastery of the language and flawless performance. After the show he was taking reception in the lobby and as I always do when given opportunities like this... I shook his hand.
