AN UNCOMFORTABLE AWARENESS

I’ve passed this poster in the subways a few times in the past week and finally stopped to read what it said. When I got to the part about body parts found in a Brooklyn subway station I went online and did some research. Seems as though the NYC police kept this two-year old case on the down low when it first came to light. Suspicion points to someone who could possibly be a transit worker. One moves around in this city with relative ease of safety, yet I’m not one to take chances or show my face in certain areas after nightfall, but the looming impression is one of predators in the midst and I felt a heightened sense of unease even if it happend a couple of years ago.
